McMaster Scores Twice as Women's Soccer Blanks Saint Peter's

RIVERDALE, NY – The Manhattan Jaspers Women's Soccer team (5-4-4, 4-3-0 MAAC) emerged victorious in its conference contest Wednesday afternoon against the Peacocks from Saint Peter's University (4-6-3, 1-5-1 MAAC) by a score of 4-0 at Gaelic Park.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In a game started by heavy doses of defense, Mayah Wheeler and Madison Heitman clocked the first two shots for Manhattan through the first ten minutes.
  • More quality chances came in the next five, as Olivia McMaster and Amaya Hill joined Wheeler in shots on target for the Jaspers.
  • Given a corner kick opportunity in the 13th minute, Lauren Ahearn headed home her look to break the ice and put the home team on top.
  • Following up shortly after, McMaster used her foot to put away the second Manhattan goal of the afternoon, doubling the early advantage.
  • The Green and White's defense stood tall in the opening half, with goalkeeper Molly Brunk only facing two shots, neither of which came on target.
  • Kaylee Stowell put initial pressure on the Peacocks in the second, shooting twice within the first ten minutes.
  • In the 73rd minute, McMaster squared up her second goal of the day, off a Jasper throw-in.
  • Refusing to let up, Nevaeh D'Aloia capitalized off of multiple ricochets in the 79th minute to put Manhattan up four for the decisive blow.
STATS AND NOTES
  • Manhattan dominated the shot bottle 17-5, with eight of the Jaspers' chances going on-goal.
  • The home squad also took this heavy advantage in corner kicks, with Manhattan taking eight to Saint Peter's zero.
  • The Jaspers secured their fourth conference win in the last five attempts, placing them in the current MAAC playoff picture.
  • Junior midfielder Olivia McMaster put together the first multi-goal game of her collegiate career, as well as securing a new career-high in goals for a season with three.
  • Junior forward Lauren Ahearn scored a goal for the third time in her last four matches.
  • Junior goalkeeper Molly Brunk secured her fourth full-game shutout in 2025.
