EUGENE, Ore.—Manhattan senior thrower RJ Decker will compete in the men's hammer throw event at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Wednesday at Hayward Field. All events will be streamed on ESPN networks, including the men's hammer which is slated for 2 PM PT/5 PM ET and can be viewed live on ESPN+.

-Decker qualified for the competition on the strength of a 65.85 meter toss which earned him ninth place in the men's hammer throw at the NCAA East Regional held at the University of Kentucky Outdoor Track and Field Facility. Decker was one of 12 hammer throwers in Kentucky to qualify, and one of 24 overall to be featured in Eugene.
-Decker is the lone Jasper to be competing at the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships, which runs from June 5-8 at the historic Hayward Field on the campus of University of Oregon.
-Decker is one three student-athletes from schools in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference to be competing. He is joined by Iona senior Damien Dilcher (men's 1500m) and Rider graduate student Teagan Schein-Becker (women's 1500m).
-Decker has taken his Manhattan career to new heights in the 2024 outdoor season, setting a personal record of 66.91 meters in the hammer throw at the 2024 ECAC/IC4A Outdoor Track & Field Championship back in early May.
