RIVERDALE, NY — The individual honors are plentiful for the Manhattan men's soccer program, with Ziv Dahan being named to the All-MAAC First Team, Sebastiano Musu, Nassim Akki and Henry Hamilton to the All-MAAC Second Team and Ayoub Boumelala to the All-MAAC Third Team. Dahan's First Team nod follows in the footsteps of Akki and Gunnar Studenhofft who were selected to the top team in 2023.
"We are very fortunate that we have players that represent our entire program both in terms of how they apply themselves and their performances on the field," said Jorden Scott, who has produced 32 All-MAAC selections during his 12-year tenure at the helm of the program. "These awards are a reflection of who we are as a team more than just the individual. Congratulations to all five of our boys for being voted by the coaches around the league for this incredible honor."
Dahan's breakout 2024 season included him scoring seven goals and recording one assist. The sophomore striker netted two goals in a resounding 4-2 win over Quinnipiac on October 23rd. Both strikes came just under six minutes apart on set piece opportunities which Dahan specialized in. He also knocked home the game-winning goals in a 2-1 win over LIU back on September 7th and in the 2-0 win at Niagara on October 26th. Dahan was named to the MAAC Golden Boot's Watchlist this season.
Sebastiano Musu finished out his Manhattan career with an impressive 2024 campaign. The senior forward tallied six goals and six assists for a team-high 18 points. Musu's quick strike versus Columbia 55 seconds into the match was the difference in a 1-0 win for Manhattan securing the program's first win ever over the Lions. Additionally, Musu was the lone goal scorer in the Jaspers' 2-1 loss at Siena in the MAAC Quarterfinals.
Rounding out the second team with Musu were Akki and Hamilton. Akki, a native of Bordeaux, France, has consistently been one of the top defenders in the MAAC since joining the program in 2022. Akki is a former two-time All-MAAC First Team recipient and was the MAAC Defender of the Year in 2022. Hamilton's appearance on the Second Team is the third time in his Manhattan career and he will enter his senior season in 2025 with 14 career goals. Like Dahan, Hamilton and Akki will both return next season.
For the second year in a row, junior midfielder Ayoub Boumelala takes his spot on the All-MAAC Third Team. Although the statistics may not suggest it, Boumelala impacts games in the midfield with incredible skill and poise.
