EDISON, N.J. - Following a 6-5 win over Navy, Graduate student Joseph Persico was named MAAC Defensive Player of the Week, conference officials announced Monday afternoon.
Persico saved 22 of Navy's 27 shots on goal. Persico's 22 saves were one away from tying the most by anyone in a single game in Division I this season. The netminder shut out Navy over the final 26 minutes of the game to allow Manhattan to complete the comeback.Â
Mount St. Mary's took the offensive player of the week, Jared McMahon, and the rookie of the week, TJ Gravante. The face-off player of the week was Siena's, Dylan Pape.
The Jaspers' next contest will be Tuesday, Feb. 21, at Princeton at 6 p.m. Princeton is ranked third in the Inside Lacrosse Media Poll this week. Â
