RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The 2022-2023 women's basketball season is coming fast to Draddy Gymnasium.
The season opens this coming Monday, Nov. 7, with a visit from Wagner at 7 p.m. Fans can watch the game on

Last season, the Green and White made it all the way to the MAAC Championship Game for the first time since the 2003 season before being defeated by Fairfield. They finished with a record of 21-11, 14-6 in the MAAC.
The Jaspers enter the season selected to finish second in the conference, per the preseason poll, while receiving a trio of first-place votes. The Jaspers return key pieces, including
Dee Dee Davis and
Brazil Harvey-Carr. Davis was selected as MAAC Preseason Player of the Year and a unanimous selection on the Preseason First Team. Harvey-Carr slotted in on the second team. Last year, Davis was also named Second Team All-Met.
The Jaspers welcome five new faces to Riverdale. The two freshmen,
Anne Bair and
Alyssa Costigan, will join a backcourt that consists of Davis, the 2019-2020 MAAC Rookie of the Year
Emily LaPointe, and
Bella Nascimento.
In the frontcourt, fans of the Jaspers will see a lot more of
Jade Blagrove down low.
Petra Juric, who was a MAAC All-Rookie last season, will look ot build on her strong debut in Riverdale and take the next step in her game. Accompanying them on the block will be a mix of
Leyla Ozturk,
Narrie Dodson, and captain
Christina Katsamouri.
The Jaspers will get a pair of unique opponents this year. Over Thanksgiving, the team will travel west to Phoenix, Ariz., to play in the Grand Canyon University Thanksgiving Classic, squaring off with one of the newest members of NCAA Division I, Lindenwood (Mo.). The following day, the team will take the court with North Dakota.
When the Jaspers return from their stint out west, Fordham will come to Draddy for another edition of the Battle of the Bronx on Dec. 3.
MAAC play begins on Dec. 29 with a visit from Canisius and runs until Mar. 2, when the regular season closes in Riverdale against Rider. The MAAC Championship begins on Mar. 7 and runs through Mar. 11 in Atlantic City, N.J.
