Berti Fourrier deposited the lone goal of the contest in the 83rd minute off a pass from senior
Troy Carrington.
Quite the Debut
Fourrier became the first Jasper to score in both his Manhattan debut and in a season opener since Erick Montinard '14 found the back of the net as a freshman on September 1, 2010 against FDU.
Shutout Central
Manhattan started off its season with a shutout after tying a program record with eight blank sheets in 2017. The Jaspers were in the top 30 in all of NCAA Division I soccer last year with a .444 shutout percentage.
Trusting the New Guys
Four Jaspers played their first stateside collegiate game against the Midshipmen. In the last two season lid-lifters, nine Jaspers that were playing their first game for Manhattan have earned a spot in the starting lineup.
All Clean with Cards
Manhattan did not draw any cards in their season opener.
Friendly Confines
The Jaspers come off a season where they went 6-4 at Gaelic Park. In those games, Manhattan fared well on both sides of the ball.
