Riverdale, NY - The 39th annual Manhattan College Athletic Hall of Fame induction ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 11. Eight individuals, two teams and one legacy inductee will be honored. Leading up to the induction, all members of Class of 2017 will be profiled on

Frank Gagliano

A major contributor to the Manhattan College 1973 Indoor National Championship, Frank Gagliano served as an Assistant Track & Field coach Riverdale for six years.
As an assistant from 1969-1974, he was a key contributor to Manhattan College's status as a Track and Field powerhouse of the '70s. During his time on campus, the Jaspers claimed titles at the Metropolitan Cross Country Indoor and Outdoor events, the IC4AA Cross Country and Indoor Track & Field competitions and ultimately the 1973 NCAA Indoor National Championship meet.
These team accolades were also matched by an American 4x1 Mile Relay Record, a World Record performance in the Distance Medley Relay, numerous All-American runners and many school records.
Prior to his time at Manhattan, he led Roselle Catholic High School to three New Jersey State Indoor Championships, two Penn Relay Championship of America titles and a New Jersey State Cross Country Championship.
Gagliano was hired to assist head Manhattan Track and Field Coach Fred Dwyer and his arrival made an immediate impact on the program. His charisma, knowledge and professionalism was able to draw many phenomenal student athletes to commit to Manhattan College.
Known for his motivating words and enthusiastic optimism, Gagliano was able to push athletes to work their hardest, through wins and losses. His leadership gave athletes confident determination and he is remembered for setting the mentality of the entire team before critical races against the country's toughest competition.
After his time at Manhattan, he went on to become the Assistant Cross Country and Head Women's Coach at Rutgers and then the Head Coach at Georgetown. He was the Head Track Coach at Nike Farm until 2006, the Head Track Coach at Oregon Track Club until 2010 and is currently the Head Track Coach at the New Jersey-New York Track Club. Throughout Gagliano's career, he has coached 27 Olympians.
Frank Gagliano undoubtedly was an essential piece of the school's legendary Track and Field era of the '70s and is proudly welcomed into the Manhattan College Athletics Hall of Fame.
