RIVERDALE, N.Y. – With the release of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) slate, the 2015-16 Manhattan College women's basketball schedule is now complete. In addition to the nine previously-announced non-conference contests, the Jaspers will play a home-and-home series with each of their MAAC rivals for a total of 20 conference games.
Manhattan plays six non-conference games before opening its MAAC schedule with a pair of contests in early December. The Jaspers host Niagara on Dec. 4 and visit defending MAAC champion Quinnipiac two days later. Manhattan then wraps up 2015 with its final three non-conference tilts.
In 2015, the Jaspers played five straight home games to begin the January portion of the conference schedule. In 2016, Manhattan's first three contests will all be on the road. The Jaspers make the short trip to Iona on Jan. 2, and also has road dates at Fairfield (Jan. 8) and Siena (Jan. 10) before returning to Draddy Gymnasium for a matchup with Marist on Jan. 12.
The showdown against the Red Foxes marks the beginning of a four-game homestand for the Jaspers. Manhattan completes the season series with Fairfield on Jan. 16 and welcomes Iona on Jan. 18. On Jan. 21, the Jaspers will host Saint Peter's on the first of two dates when the Manhattan men's team also has a home game. The men's team faces Monmouth that day.
On Jan. 23, Manhattan hits the road for a matchup with Rider. The Jaspers then host Quinnipiac on Jan. 31 before visiting Monmouth on Feb. 2. After welcoming Canisius on Feb. 5, Manhattan travels to Poughkeepsie for the rematch with Marist on Feb. 8. Three days later is the second Manhattan basketball doubleheader, as the women meet Monmouth and the men's team squares off with Quinnipiac.
After hosting Siena on Feb. 14, the Jaspers make their annual trek to Western New York for contests at Canisius (Feb. 19) and Niagara (Feb. 21). The final road game on the schedule will be at Saint Peter's on Feb. 26. Manhattan then wraps up the 2015-16 regular season by welcoming Rider to Draddy Gymnasium on Feb. 28.
This season's MAAC Tournament returns to the Times Union Center in Albany from March 3-7. The MAAC Tournament schedule has been adjusted slightly this season. After the first-round games on March 3, the No. 1 and 2 seeds will play their quarterfinals on March 4. The quarterfinals involving the No. 3 and 4 seeds will take place on March 5, with the semifinals scheduled for March 6 and the championship game on March 7.
