RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Rising sophomore catcher Chris Reynolds has made the all-star team in the Atlantic Baseball Confederation Collegiate League, playing for the Yogi Berra side against the Larry Doby squad.
In 23 games for the Monmouth Monarchs, Reynolds has compiled excellent offensive numbers. He is batting .421 with a .459 on-base percentage and .566 slugging percentage in 85 plate appearances. Reynolds has belted eight doubles, a home run and has driven in 11 runs. Those numbers have helped lift the Monarchs to a league-leading 21-3 mark, 7 1/2 games ahead of their nearest competitors.
Reynolds joins felllow Jasper Chris Kalousdian as summer league all-stars. Kalousdian recently was selected to play in the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League, which takes place tomorrow, Wednesday, July 24 in Newark, N.Y.
