RIVERDALE, N.Y. - After leading the Lady Jaspers to the semifinals of the Women's Basketball Invitational (WBI), Manhattan College junior forward Lindsey Loutsenhizer (North Huntingdon, Pa.) has been named to the WBI All-Tournament Team. Loutsenhizer averaged 16.0 points and 11.3 rebounds in three tournament games. She also contributed 2.3 assists and 1.0 blocks per game in the tournament.
Loutsenhizer grabbed a career-high 14 rebounds to go along with eight points in Manhattan's 52-48 first round win over Sacred Heart, then had a double-double against Wright State in the quarterfinals. She tied a career-high with 24 points and added 13 rebounds in the 75-73 win over the Raiders. In Manhattan's 62-43 semifinal loss to UAB, Loutsenhizer poured in 16 points, including the 1,000th of her career, and collected seven rebounds. She went a perfect 4-for-4 from three-point range against the Blazers, and became the 19th player in program history to reach the 1,000-point mark with her final basket of the season, a trey midway through the second half.
UAB went on to win the WBI title with a 68-60 victory over Cal State Bakersfield in the championship game. UAB's Amber Jones was named tournament MVP. The rest of the All-Tournament Team consisted of UAB's Amanda Peterson, Tyonna Outland and Amber Williams of Cal State Bakersfield, and Chicago State's Tressa Beckel.
Manhattan finished the season with a 24-10 mark, establishing a new school record for victories in a season.
