Junior midfielder Paul Rolston scored his third goal of the spring season to spark the Manhattan College men's soccer team to a 1-0 win over local MAAC rival Iona College.
Midway through the first half, Jasper freshman Lenny Young lofted a long ball to junior Stephen Van Rossem, who flicked it to Rolston with his head and sent Rolston in one versus one with the Iona keeper. Rolston then slotted the ball to the far post to score the lone goal of the match.
The Jaspers backline of Young, sophomore Joshua Renner and freshman Christopher Holihan turned in a strong performance in front of Jasper goalkeeper Joseph Lorenz, who collected the shutout.
Manhattan's next spring match is Saturday, April 18th at 2 p.m. at Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I.
