MEN'S SOCCER SCORES 1-1 TALLY WITH TOP DIVISION II SCHOOL DOMINICAN COLLEGE

Orangeburg, N.Y. (August 20, 2006)- In its lone exhibition game of the preseason, the Manhattan College men's soccer scored a 1-1 draw against Dominican College, ranked 11th in the country in the 2006 NSCAA Division II Pre-Season Poll and a 2005 NCAA Division II regional finalist.

In a game in which the Jasper's had the majority of the play, Manhattan scored first, getting a tally midway through the first half from sophomore striker John Dellipriscoli off a nifty pass from his striker partner, sophomore Adolfo Rivera.

About 10 minutes later in the first half, the Dominican Chargers struck back, getting a goal from Diego Miranda off of a miscue from the Jasper's defense.

The second half saw both teams getting good chances, only to struggle to find the net. Sophomore John Ciano and freshman Alex Sylvan shared time in goal for the Jaspers and both did well to shut down the Charger offense.

The Jaspers move on to start their regular season this Friday, traveling to Huntington, W.V. to take on Marshall University before heading onto Pittsburgh, Pa. to take on defending Northeast Conference champion Robert Morris University.
