MASON NAMED TO THE ALL-MAAC FIRST TEAM

Riverdale, NY - (March 1, 2003) For the third time in three years Senior Rosalee Mason was named to the All-MAAC First Team earlier today. Mason is now eligible for MAAC Player of the Year honors, which will be announced on Friday, March 5 at a 4:30 p.m. Mason is only one of two players on this year's First Team to receive this honor in consecutive years. Jenel Stevens of Canisius joins Mason as repeat First Teamers. Joining Mason and Stevens on the First Team, are Michelle Fahy of Iona, Colleen Toetz of Niagara, and Jolene Johnson of Siena.

Mason averaged 18.5 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.2 steals, and 34.7 minutes per game. Mason has recorded one of the most decorated careers in Lady Jaspers history. She ranks first all time in rebounds with 1,202, she is tied for second all time in points with 1,838, and ranks fourth all-time in steals with 224.

The Lady Jaspers posted a 10-17 overall record, 6-12 in the MAAC, placing them in eighth. The Lady Jaspers will look to repeat as the conference champions when Manhattan, the #8 seed, faces #7 seed Fairfield in the first round at 2:15 pm, on Thursday, March 4.
