Riverdale, NY (December 7, 2004)- Head Women's and Men's Soccer Coaches John Sanchez and Billy Walsh have resigned from their positions, it was announced by Athletic Director Bob Byrnes. Sanchez will continue at Manhattan working as the athletic coordinator.
Sanchez was Manhattan College's head women's soccer coach for the past eight years. Under his tutelage, the Jaspers posted a 42-64-11 record, including an 8-9-1 2001 campaign, the second-most wins in program history.
Walsh completed four years as head coach of the Manhattan men's soccer team, compiling a 17-47-7 record. In his first year at the helm, he led the Jaspers to a 7-10-1 record and a trip to the MAAC Tournament.
A search has already begun to fill these two positions.
