RIVERDALE, NY (January 11, 2002) - Sophomore defender Michael Fogliano (Middletown, NJ) was named to the 2001 Men's Soccer All-District 1 Second Team. Fogliano, a business major, boasts a 3.90 cumulative grade point average, which was the highest GPA of any second-team honoree.
Fogliano was also named to the MAAC All-Academic Team earlier this season.
Fogliano started 17 games for the Jaspers this season, playing every game as a defender. Manhattan ended the season with an overall record of 7-10-1, marking the second-most victories in a single season for the program. Manhattan earned the fourth seed in the MAAC Tournament, which was only the fourth MAAC Tournament berth for the Jaspers in 12 years.
