Sonia Burke enters her fourth season with the Lady Jaspers as part of Myndi Hill's staff. Her responsibilities include being the junior college recruiting coordinator, scouting and tape breakdown of opponents, assisting with community service programs and game promotions, handling all aspects of equipment, along with on-court coaching of post players, with an emphasis on offense.
While working as an assistant with Coach Hill at St. Francis (PA), Burke helped the Red Flash capture the 2002-03 Northeast Conference regular season and conference tournament titles along with a bid to the NCAA tournament. Her responsibilities included coordinating junior college recruiting, and video scouting film exchange and video highlights. She also supervised game day promotions, basketball clinics, and community service events. Before St. Francis, Burke was the assistant coach at McGill Toolen High School in Alabama in 2001-02, where she helped lead the team to a 14-2 record.
A native of Barbados, Burke played at Spring Hill College in Alabama and led the Badgers to two Gulf Coast Conference championships and two consecutive NAIA Tournaments appearances. Burke graduated with a Bachelor's degree in management and a minor in managerial accounting in 2001.
