    Volunteer Assistant Coach
Cooper Moran will begin his first season with the Jaspers' Men's Volleyball program in 2026, after being named Volunteer Assistant Coach on Wednesday, October 22, 2025. Cooper will immediately focus on assisting the staff with player development and roster integration for the program’s upcoming seasons.

Moran joins Manhattan after serving as a Volunteer Assistant Coach for Hunter College during the 2024-2025 season, following one of the most decorated collegiate playing careers in the CUNYAC. As a three-year setter for the Hawks from 2021 to 2024, he led Hunter to two CUNYAC Season Championships and established himself as one of the top playmakers in the region, totaling over 2000 collegiate career assists. He was named a 3x CUNYAC All Star First Team selection and was the Conference Assist Leader in three consecutive seasons.

During his senior campaign in 2024, Cooper collected several major awards, including the prestigious CUNYAC Men’s Volleyball Player of the Year honor. He was also recognized for his dedication both on the court and in the classroom, earning the CUNYAC Male Scholar Athlete of the Year award and being nominated for the Division III Male Athlete of the Year Award. Throughout his time at Hunter, he served as a 3x Team Captain, demonstrating exceptional leadership.

His early coaching and training experience includes a role as a Lead Trainer at the University of Amsterdam in 2023, providing specialized instruction to university athletes. Before his collegiate career, Moran developed foundational championship habits as a high school player, winning the New York State Championship and earning 1st Team All New York State recognition in 2018, playing under Coach Dennis Ringel.

A native of Bellmore, New York, Moran is currently pursuing his Master of Public Health (MPH) at the Mailman School of Public Health at Columbia University. He earned his bachelor's degree in Human Biology from Hunter College in 2024.
