Edison Sanchez enters his third year as an assistant coach with the Manhattan Men's Soccer program in 2020-21.

Last year, the Jaspers qualified for the MAAC Tournament for the second time in three years, while Adrien Awana collected All-MAAC First Team honors and Berti Fourrier garnered Second Team accolades.

In his first year in 2018, Sanchez and the staff guided Manhattan to a program-record 12 wins, breaking records with nine shutouts, 12 goals allowed and an .875 non-conference winning percentage. During the season, the Kelly Green and White upset its first-ranked opponent in program history with a win over No. 25 Fordham on September 18. The United Soccer Coaches ranked the Jaspers in the top 10 in its East Region Poll for seven weeks, including a third-place showing. Manhattan received votes in the USC Top 25 National Poll, while College Soccer News had the Jaspers 30th in the nation for the week ending September 23.

Prior to his arrival at Manhattan, Sanchez served as the head coach for the Monroe women's soccer team. In his first season at the helm, the team finished the year ranked 16th in the United Soccer Coaches Junior College Division I Women's Poll. Sanchez led the program to a pair of wins against top-five NJCAA opponents in 2017.

Before leading the women's side, he previously held a position as an assistant coach with the men's soccer program from 2014 to 2017. Heavily involved in recruiting, strength and conditioning, he guided the Mustangs to two National Championship appearances and three consecutive top 10 rankings in the NJCAA and NSCAA polls.

In addition to his assistant coaching responsibilities, he was also the head coach of the JV program. Under his tutelage, the team compiled a 16-1-1 record from 2014-2016.

Sanchez attended Monroe College in 2011, where he helped the Mustangs reach their first national championship in program history during a 14-2-1 campaign. He then transferred to Belhaven University in Jackson, MS, in 2012 and won a national championship with the Blazers in 2012. Sanchez also spent time in the New York Red Bulls organization, participating on the U-14 to U-23 teams.
