Bobby Melley

Bobby Melley is in his second year as an assistant coach at Manhattan.

A former standout at UConn, Melley was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 2016 First-Year Player Draft. In his first professional season, he earned Appalachian League All-Star honors and was named the Princeton Rays' MVP after hitting .323 with a .404 OBP.  In 2017, he continued his career with Bowling Green of the Midwest League, helping the Hot Rods to a playoff berth.
 
A two-time captain and four-year starter at UConn, Melley helped guide the Huskies to a pair of NCAA Regional appearances. The program leader in games started, he also ranks among the top-five in hits, doubles and walks. As a sophomore in 2014, he was named NEIBA New England Player of the Year while also garnering inclusion on the All-New England, ABCA All-Northeast Region and American Conference First Teams. 
 
He also played three years for Hyannis in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League, before serving as the hitting and first base coach for the Harbor Hawks in the summer of 2018.
 
Melley graduated from the UConn with a degree in Communications after prepping at Boston College High School under Hall of Fame coach, Norm Walsh.
