ATLANTIC CITY, NJ – The Metro Conference announced its 2026 Preseason All-Metro Teams, with Manhattan's newest acquisition, junior Ben Tweedy, named to the Third Team, per release Wednesday morning.
"Ben Tweedy shows elite leadership both on and off the floor. He brings great toughness, experience, and passion to our program," says Head Coach John Gallagher.
The 6-4 guard officially joined the Green and White on May 29 after playing for the Colgate Raiders last season. Tweedy played a key role in the team's Patriot League Semifinal run and its top-ranked offense.
The Rockhampton, Queensland, Australia native started in all 33 appearances for the Central New York based program.
Tweedy scored a season-high 28 points in the victory over the Greyhounds of Loyola Maryland in the Patriot League Quarterfinals on March 8, with nine made buckets from the floor on 12 attempts. He sank five of eight from downtown as well.
He averaged 9.4 points per game and led the team in scoring six times during the season. Tweedy also recorded 85 assists, with a season-best eight against Lafayette on February 25. His overall assist total ranked 13th in the Patriot League. Additionally, he posted his first double-double in the same game against the Leopards in February.
From three-point range, Tweedy proved to be a sharpshooter, having converted 42-of-109 and finishing the year eighth in the Patriot League in 3-point percentage. He also scored at least 12 points in five of his last six games, donning the Raiders jersey.
Last season, Tweedy converted 64 of 91 from the charity stripe, grabbed 101 rebounds, tallied 19 steals, scored 310 total points, and averaged 29.5 minutes on the floor.
In the 2026 Metro Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Jaspers were ranked tenth out of the conference's 13 teams.
The Jaspers are set to open the 2026-27 season at the University of Kentucky inside Rupp Arena on Tuesday, November 3.
