RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan University women's basketball Head Coach
Heather Vulin has announced the addition of an assistant coach to her 2026-27 staff, naming Abby Streeter as the newest member of her ensemble Wednesday afternoon.
"Abby has been on my radar for a couple of years as someone that I wanted to work with ... She brings great energy, great talent, and an incredible basketball background to the table," commented Vulin.
Streeter most recently served as head coach at the Darrow School in Upstate New York, roughly 30 miles east of Albany. There, while spearheading the program, her teams went a combined 47-14, appearing in the NEPSAC AA Championship in both of her seasons at the helm. After going 25-4 in the 2025-26 campaign, her team won the NEPSAC AA Championship and appeared in the National Prep Championship Final Four. Ten of her players earned NEPSAC All-League recognition, while six of them earned roster spots at NCAA Division I programs.
"What she has accomplished at Darrow in her two years there was truly incredible. I'm so excited to bring her on staff," continued Vulin.
Prior to her prep stint, Streeter also joined Karen Pinkos' staff at Division II Southern New Hampshire University, where the Penmen earned an NCAA Tournament berth in the East Region. She also helped develop a WBCA All-American and Northeast 10 Player of the Year in Adriana Timberlake, who averaged 18.4 points and nearly four assists a game in 28 starts.
Spending two seasons as a professional player, Streeter competed in both Puerto Rico and Japan from 2023-2025.
During her collegiate playing days, Streeter spread her time across three Division I programs at Rhode Island, Hartford, and finishing her career at Rutgers. Streeter played in 58 games across two seasons for the Rams at Rhode Island, scoring a career-best 20 points against Brown as a sophomore. After transferring to Hartford, she then appeared in 42 games for the Hawks including a COVID-shortened season in 2020-21. During her second season with 28 starts, Streeter averaged 9.6 points with 2.5 rebounds a night, leading her team with 78 total three-pointers made.
With her final graduate season taking place at Rutgers, Streeter shined in her only season in a power conference, appearing in all 32 games with 10 starts. In addition, she ranked second in made three-pointers with 27, knocking down four against Cornell where she scored a season-high 12 points.
"I've been very impressed with Abby and what she has already accomplished in her basketball career as both a player and coach ... She will make an immediate impact as an assistant coach with her work ethic, ability to develop talent, and her hunger for excellence," concluded Vulin.
