EDISON, N.J. - After compiling yet another versatile weekend from both the batter's box and pitching circle, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference has announced Manhattan's
Natalye DeBus has won the Co-Rookie of the Week award, according to a press release from the conference on Tuesday afternoon.
The newcomer's bat torched the Warriors of Merrimack over the weekend, batting four-for-eight with a home run and three RBI. Her two doubles also aided in the three-game conference sweep.
In the pitching circle, DeBus tallied 8.1 shutout innings between a non-conference tilt against St. John's and game three of the Merrimack series. In the latter, she pitched a full seven frames allowing only three hits while striking out six.
DeBus will continue contributing to the Jaspers later this afternoon (Apr. 21) when Manhattan squares off in a midweek conference doubleheader against the Stags from Fairfield. First pitch commences at 2:00 PM, with the second leg starting at 4:00 PM on the Jasper Sports Network.
