Hansen’s Three RBI Evening Fuels Baseball Past Siena

POMONA, NY – The Manhattan Jaspers Baseball team (12-19, 5-12 MAAC) took down the Saints of Siena University (10-20, 6-11 MAAC) by a score of 8-5 inside Clover Stadium on Saturday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Coming off the series-opening loss roughly 24 hours prior, the Green and White capitalized early against the Saints.

  • In the third inning, Basehore opened the inning with a single through the left side, before Hansen's round-tripper brought the lead back to three.
  • Three batters later, Dylan Mayer doubled to left field to bring home Jeremy Sosa from first. Then, Ryan Lordier added another two runs for a six-run lead.

  • Infielder Trevor Hansen paced the Green and White with a 3-for-4 evening, with a game high three RBIs, one run, one strikeout, and capitalized on a home run.
  • Outfielder Dylan Mayer registered a 1-for-4 stat-line with one run, one RBI, and a double, but struck out twice.

QUOTES FROM THE JASPERS

Head Coach Steven Rosen: "Very proud of the bounce-back effort today. Hudson [Pergamit] set the tone for us with a great start. That allowed our offense to get things rolling and really execute the game plan that we had coming in. Andrew Brown and Chris Fidanza did a great job coming in and closing the door."
