STATEN ISLAND, NY – The Manhattan Men's and Women's Track and Field returned to action to take part in the Metropolitan Indoor Championships from inside Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex on Friday morning.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Logging a top ten finish was senior Jaxon Newton in the Men's 5000 Meter Run with a time of 15:22.87.
- In the Men 1 Mile Run, junior Colby Micheels and freshman Brody Cox posted 13th and 14th place finishes with respective times of 4:30.21 and 4:30.86.
- Freshman Joao Mota recorded three points for a sixth-place finish in the Men's 400 Meter Dash with a time of 50.23. .02 seconds behind Fordham's Dakota Strain for fifth place.
- Shining in the Men's 3000 Meter Run was senior Adrian Alonso, who claimed victory with 10 points and a time of 8:45.29, over 10 seconds better than second-place finisher Daniel DiTunno from Fordham.
- Senior Jack Flanagan also finished in the top ten in the respective event with a time of 9:12.22 for ninth place.
- In the Men's Long Jump, senior Alex Bilello and junior Thomas Dubnov Raz logged distances of 7.00m and 6.94m for third and fourth-place finishes, respectively.
- As a team in the Men's 4 x 400 Meter Relay, Manhattan finished fifth with four points featuring the quartet of Christopher Purchia, Joao Mota, Colby Micheels, and Shane McCory.
- In the Men's Weight Throw, junior Myron Corpuz posted a mark of 15.32m for a fifth-place finish and four points in the event.
- On the women's side, junior Bailee Christofis registered a fourth-place finish in the Women's 5000 Meter Run with a time of 18:46.51 and five points.
- In the Women's 1 Mile Run, senior Kylie Conroy supplied the Green and White with a fifth-place finish and four points with a time of 5:07.12.
- Junior Julia Hendricks added to the Jasper accolades with a fifth-place finish and an additional four team points in the Women's 800 Meter Run with a time of 2:19.95.
- Sophomore Tranira Booker recorded a time of 25.92, tied for fourth place in the Women's 200 Meter Dash, with St. John's Nia-Ruby Forbes-Agyepong. Booker finished with an exact marker of 25.914, while the latter ended with a time of 25.913.
- The Jaspers took the Women's 4 x 200 Meter Relay and the 10 points it offered, clocking 1:41.00, courtesy of Ellianne Fernandez, Oliviah Hussey, SaRae Kennard, and Camryn Daley's strong performances.
- In the Women's 4 x 400 Meter Relay, the Jaspers fell to St. John's and settled for a second-place finish and eight points with Fernandez, Hussey, Kennard, and Kayla Darius's strong encore and start, respectively.
- Finally, in the Women's Weight Throw, sophomore Thea Dahl posted eight points for a second-place finish and a mark of 16.53m.

The Green and White return to action on Friday and Saturday, February 6 and 7, to compete in the Riverhawk Invitational hosted by the Riverhawks of UMass Lowell from the Track at New Balance in Boston.
