Max Larcheid Tabbed NEC Men’s Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week

RIVERDALE, NY – The NEC released its weekly awards that featured Manhattan Jaspers' Men's Volleyball freshman middle blocker Max Larcheid as the conference's Defensive Player of the Week on Wednesday afternoon, per release.
 
Over the weekend against the Knights of FDU, the Brookfield, WI native logged a career high 10.5 points on Friday evening with four kills on eight attempts, while adding one set assist, one dig, and a combined 10 blocks. Three, of which, were solo blocks.
 
In the victory on Saturday inside Draddy Gymnasium, Larcheid followed up with four kills on six attempts, with one service ace, three digs, and another six blocks to his ledger for eight points.
 
On the campaign for Larcheid so far, he's recorded 25 kills on 54 attempts for a .259 overall hitting percentage. Team wide, Larcheid sits third in blocks with 29.0 on the year, averaging exactly 1.00 per game.

Head Coach Chris Schortgen: "Max was locked in this weekend at the net which was a big part of our 2-0 weekend. He's been healthy lately, and his improvement and ability to utilize his great reads are coming more into play as he gets into rhythm. The Jaspers return to action next weekend for its final non-conference in the Sunshine State on Saturday, March 14, when the Green and White take on the Buccaneers of Barry University inside the Health and Sports Center for a 6 p.m. opening serve.
