NEW ROCHELLE, N.Y. -
Heading into the final weekend, the Manhattan Jaspers look to win their fifth consecutive game, this time against the Gaels from Iona. Leading Manhattan in the points category has been Senior guard Brianna Davis, averaging 15.1 points a night, including a Division I high of 28 points three times this month. Her scoring average puts her in fourth place across the MAAC. Senior guard Hana Mühl has helped spread the rock, with a nightly average of 4.2 holding second place in the MAAC. On the defensive end, Graduate forwards Colette Mulderig and Agar Farrés Garcia have helped anchor that end of the floor, with the former's 1.6 average on blocks putting her in second place across the MAAC, while the latter's 8.0 rebound average puts her in fourth. The Jaspers will look to tally one more win before closing out their regular season against Saint Peter's on Saturday (2/28).

Scouting the Opposition:

After starting the 2025-26 season 7-3 through the non-conference slate, the Iona Gaels have since gotten to 11-8 so far through the MAAC schedule, now in fourth place, a half game above Sacred Heart.

Iona has now won four consecutive games, coming against Canisius, Niagara, Siena, and Saint Peter's.

The Gaels are led by the two-headed monster of Graduate guard Isabellah Middleton (14.0) and Junior forward Zoey Ward (13.7), averaging a combined 27.7 points a night.

Two other players average at least eight points apiece, in Graduate guard Ella Fajardo (8.2) and Junior guard Mya Zaccagnini (8.1). Zaccagnini's 30.8% clip from beyond the arc leads the team.

Iona was selected to finish sixth in this year's edition of the MAAC Preseason Poll, two places below where they currently stand.

The Gaels finished the 2024-25 season with an overall record of 11-21, going 8-12 within the MAAC.

Squeezing into the last spot in the 2025 MAAC Championship at the 10 seed, Iona upset seventh-seeded Saint Peter's in the first round by the final score of 42-40. Their season came to an end in the quarterfinals against Quinnipiac, 79-51.

This will serve as the 97th meeting all-time between Iona and Manhattan, with the Gaels taking the first meeting this season 65-51 inside Draddy Gymnasium.
