Molly Brunk NEW Program Leader All-Time Wins

Brunk Enters Rarified Air Amongst Women's Soccer Program

RIVERDALE, NY - After last week's 2-0 win over Quinnipiac, the Manhattan University women's soccer team improved to 5-2-1 with a 2-1-1 mark inside the Metro Conference. That was done by yet another shutout from senior goalkeeper Molly Brunk, who secured her 23rd of the sort, extending an already established program record.

She wasn't done there, though. The victory also held up as her 25th all-time starting in between the posts, which is a new program record. The number breaks the mark 2026 Manhattan Athletics Hall of Fame Inductee Kristen Skonieczny set (24) during her career, with Brunk now holding a second record previously belonging to Skonieczny.

"It's a super cool experience to see the people that came before you and now seeing your name in that spot. It only pushes me to get better and be the best I can to help my team," Brunk commented.

"I never thought when I arrived here that I would be breaking all of these records, but it reflects how far I've come in my journey as a soccer player. I've played since I was five years old, and getting to tell that version of myself I made it to this point is so rewarding," she continued.

While Brunk remains proud of her accomplishments, she doesn't hold back in acknowledging how she got here.

"None of this would be possible without every single person in our program, whether it's coaches or players."

Ironically, her milestone came at the same time as Head Coach Brendan Lawler reached his 100th career win, the first to do so at Manhattan.

"Experiencing that with him was super special, and a little ironic also being a goalkeeper when he played. When I came to campus as a freshman, Coach gave me the confidence I needed, and us breaking records together only resembles how we both have pushed each other to keep pushing and improving through the last four years."

While the spotlight is on her for the time being, Brunk's mind hasn't wandered from the ultimate goal down the stretch.

"We've had a fantastic start inside the Metro to start the year. Eryn [Primus], Talia [Omer], and Estelle [Raspe] trusting each other has led to great success, only allowing one goal at home this season. Our conference is super compeititve and games can flip at any time. We can appreciate what we've done so far, but we only need to get better and continue pushing ourselves. It's all about one game at a time like Coach says, so we're focused on our team and what we can do to get better," she concluded.

With seven games to go in the conference slate, Brunk and her teammates will suit up again tomorrow (Wednesday), October 7, welcoming the Broncs from Rider to Gaelic Park. Action is scheduled to get underway at 3:00 PM and can be viewed live on ESPN+ with a paid subscription.
