NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. -
After securing their second win in the last three games, the Manhattan Jaspers look to get to .500 in conference play to round out their trip in Western New York against Niagara. Leading Manhattan in the points category has been Senior guard Brianna Davis, averaging 12.1 points a night. A recent uptick in play has come from Graduate forward Colette Mulderig, who now follows Davis with 8.1 on the score sheet per game. On the defensive end, the Scranton, Pa. native is averaging 1.6 blocks a contest, good enough for 2nd in the MAAC. R-Sophomore Kristina Juric has emerged on both ends of the floor, scoring in double digits in two of her last three games, pulling down 22 rebounds in that same stretch. The Jaspers will look to take care of business before returning home for their annual Kids Day game against Mount St. Mary's (MD) on Wednesday (Jan. 14) at 11 AM.

Scouting the Opposition:

Off to rough sleddings in 2025-26, the Niagara Purple Eagles are winless in their first 14 games of the season.

Five of those losses have come in the MAAC slate, dropping to Siena, Saint Peter's, Sacred Heart, Fairfield, and Iona thus far.

Niagara is led by Senior guard Talia Dial, averaging 12.7 points a night, posting in double figures in her last seven outings. This includes two 20 point performances against Siena and Saint Peter's to open the conference slate.

Freshman guard Chasity Wilson leads the next group of five Purple Eagles who average between 4.1 and 7.9 points. After Wilson, this list continues with Caliana Fenceroy (5.7), Freshman forward Kenedie Haruna (5.5), Sophomore forward Jordyn Williams (5.3), Freshman guard Katarina Veljovic (4.4)

Veljovic and Graduate forward Tyasia Freeman have been leading the way on the boards, combining for 8.8 a contest.

Niagara was selected to finish in 11th place in the 2025-26 edition of the MAAC Preseason Poll.

Due to a 2-18 record in the MAAC schedule, Niagara did not qualify for the 2025 MAAC Championship in Atlantic City.

The Purple Eagles won two Division I games last season, against Iona and Rider.

This will serve as the 71st matchup between Niagara and Manhattan, with the Jaspers taking the win in four of the last five outings.
