RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Following securing their third win in the last four games, the Manhattan Jaspers are looking to get above .500 in conference play after returning home to play against Mount St. Mary's. Leading Manhattan in the points category has been Senior guard
Brianna Davis, averaging 12.1 points a night. A recent uptick in play has come from Graduate forward
Colette Mulderig, who just passed the 1,000 point milestone last game on top of a 24 point performance. On the defensive end, the Scranton, Pa. native is averaging 1.7 blocks a contest, good enough for 2nd in the MAAC. Graduate guard Elisa Solé Sanchez has had a recent resurgence as well, posting in double figures three of her last four outings, including a season-high of 14 last game at Niagara. The Jaspers will look to get a big win before going back on the road against Fairfield on Saturday (Jan. 17) at 2 PM.
Scouting the Opposition:
•After dropping their first three games to begin 2025-26, the Mount St. Mary's Mountaineers have since stabilized, winning seven of their next 12 games.
•Starting 3-3 in MAAC play, The Mount picked up home wins against Marist and Iona before losing three straight and rebounding last game against Saint Peter's.
•Mount St. Mary's is led by Redshirt Sophomore guard Gabrielle Kennerly, averaging 15.7 on the scoreboard each night. Her showcase performance came against Iona on Dec. 21, scoring 30 points on 11-for-18 shooting along with seven rebounds.
•Four more players average at least five points a game, led by Freshman forward Berlynn Carlson (7.7), Junior center Amber Bullard (6.1), Junior guard Alana Powell (5.9), and Redshirt Junior guard Gianna Hoddinott (5.3).
•Bullard leads the way in boards, posting a 6.6 nightly average, posting in double digits against Bucknell (10) and Lehigh (11).
•Mount St. Mary's was selected to finish in third place in the 2025-26 edition of the MAAC Preseason Poll.
•Finishing with a 12-8 record in conference play, the Mountaineers earned the fourth seed in time for the 2025 MAAC Championship in Atlantic City.
•There, The Mount picked up a quarterfinal win over Marist by the final score of 68-65 before falling to top-seeded Fairfield the following day, 49-48.
•This will serve as the eighth matchup between Mount St. Mary's and Manhattan, with the Jaspers winning five of the previous seven meetings.
