Mulderig Posts Double-Double; Women's Basketball Cruises Over Niagara

NIAGARA UNIVERSITY, N.Y. – The Manhattan Jaspers women's basketball team (3-12, 3-3 MAAC), on the backs of a 24 point, 10 rebound double-double from Colette Mulderig, won their third out of the last four games, today against the Purple Eagles of Niagara (0-15, 0-6 MAAC) by a final score of 74-53 inside Gallagher Center on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Brianna Davis and Mulderig scored two of the first three baskets through the first six minutes of the contest.
  • After Niagara tied the game at six apiece, the Jaspers rallied for six unanswered points in about a 45 second stretch, with Kristina Juric getting four of them in the paint.
  • Before the first quarter buzzer, Elisa Solé Sanchez found herself on the scoring sheet as well, knocking down a three point jump shot assisted by Juric.
  • Mulderig added six more points by midway through the second frame, with the first two coming at the free throw stripe, crossing the 1,000 career point milestone.
  • Solé Sanchez converted on her second shot from beyond the arc as well for an early double-digit Manhattan lead.
  • Alyssa Costigan knocked down the last Green and White point of the half, sending the team into the break with an 11 point advantage.
  • It was the Purple Eagles who came out hot in the second half of play, cutting the deficit down to four at 35-31 after a Tyasia Freeman layup.
  • Keeping the hosts at bay, Davis hit her own three point field goal, shortly followed by a jumper from Agar Farrés Garcia.
  • Davis took full advantage of a three point play opportunity, hitting her contested layup through the contact and ending a 12-0 run for the Jaspers.
  • With Mulderig and Solé Sanchez continuing to find their form, Manhattan took an 18 point margin into the final quarter.
  • The Green and White's dominance quickly grew to over 20 points, as a Hana Mühl three pointer extended the number to 23 midway through.
  • Mühl scored four of the final five points for the Jaspers, the final of which coming from Autumn Taylor to secure their third win in MAAC play.

STATS AND NOTES

  • Graduate forward Colette Mulderig scored a Division I-high 24 points on 10-for-18 shooting along with 10 rebounds and two blocks. This poses as the first 20+ point performance by any Jasper this season, and only the second double-double (A. Farrés Garcia vs. FDU)
  • Graduate guard Elisa Solé Sanchez's 14 points is a new Division I-high for her as well, beating out her 12 on Thursday against Canisius.
  • Senior guard Hana Mühl tied her teammate Solé Sanchez with five assists each. They also combined for four steals.
  • Senior guard Brianna Davis posted 11 points, her 12th double-digit outing in 2025-26.
  • Manhattan shot at its best rate in the opening quarter, with a 54% clip. This is the highest single quarter shooting percentage Manhattan has posted in 2025-26.
