NEWARK, N.J. - In the midst of a tough non-conference slate, Manhattan looks to get in the win category for the first time Sunday afternoon on the road against an America East opponent. This also comes as the seventh program of the season through only nine games that the Jaspers are facing for the first time under Head Coach
Heather Vulin. Leading Manhattan in the points category has been Senior guard
Brianna Davis, tallying double figures in all but one of the Jaspers' first eight games. Senior Hana Mu¨hl has helped the offense facilitate, averaging just shy of three assists per game, good enough for a sixth place tie across the MAAC. The Green and White will begin conference play 12 days later when they travel to M&T Bank Arena to square off with the Bobcats from Quinnipiac. That game will serve as Quinnipiac's "Kids Day" with tip-off scheduled for 11 AM.
Scouting the Opposition:
•After opening the 2025-26 season winning six out of their first seven games, the NJIT Highlanders have since dropped two of their last three against both FDU at home and Monmouth on the road.
•Prior to this recent cold stretch, the Highlanders picked up wins against Sacred Heart, Fordham, Wagner, St. Thomas (MN), Saint Peter's, and Drexel.
•Led by the three-headed monster of guards Sophomore Olivia Kulyk, Junior Marissa Gingrich, and Senior Alejandra Zuniga, the trio have combined for a whopping 44.4 points a night out of the team's total of 66.7.
•Sophomore forward Ava Locklear has averaged 8.0 rebounds and just shy of a block per game.
•NJIT was selected fifth out of nine teams in the 2025-26 America East preseason poll, situated between UAlbany above them and Binghamton below them.

•Earning the fifth seed in time for the 2025 America East Championship, NJIT opened up the tournament traveling to fourth-seeded Maine, a matchup against the Black Bears sent the Highlanders home early by a final score of 65-51.
•This will serve as the third matchup between NJIT and Manhattan, with the Jaspers winning both previous outings, last meeting in 2011 in Newark.
