HAMDEN, Conn. - After playing nine games in the non-conference, Manhattan looks to get in the win category for the first time Friday morning on the road to open up the MAAC schedule against Quinnipiac. This also serves as the "Kids Day" game in Hamden, with tip-off from M&T Bank Arena set for 11 AM. Leading Manhattan in the points category has been Senior guard
Brianna Davis, tallying double figures in all but one of the Jaspers' first nine games. Graduate forward Agar Farrés Garcia has established herself as the defensive anchor for the Jaspers, averaging 8.3 rebounds (2nd in MAAC) and 2.2 steals (3rd in MAAC) per game. The Green and White will begin their holiday break after today, resuming conference play in 10 days inside Draddy Gymnasium against defending conference champions Fairfield, with tip-off scheduled for 7 PM.
Scouting the Opposition:
•After opening the 2025-26 season winning five out of their first eight games, the Bobcats from Quinnipiac dropped their most recent outing at home against the Black Bears from Maine 63-55 on Sunday.
•Prior to last weekend's loss, Quinnipiac won three games in a row against Colgate, Boston College, and Cornell, combining for a total of +75 in margin of victory.
•Five players average nine or more points per game for the Bobcats, with Graduate guard Jackie Grisdale (16.0), Freshman guard Ella Ryan (12.4), and Senior forward Ella O'Donnell (10.9) all averaging double figures.
•Senior guard Sydney Ryan leads the way on the boards with 6.7 rebounds a night, pulling down 13 in a win over Yale on November 18.
•Quinnipiac was selected second out of 13 teams in the 2025-26 MAAC preseason poll, situated just behind reigning champion Fairfield, as well as above third place Mount St. Mary's.
•The Bobcats come off a 2024-25 season where they finished 28-5, going 18-2 inside the MAAC.
•After finishing as runner-up in the 2025 MAAC Championship following a loss to top-seeded Fairfield, Quinnipiac accepted an invite to the WBIT, losing its opening round game to Seton Hall 57-40.
•This will serve as the 27th matchup between Quinnipiac and Manhattan, with the Jaspers falling in the only 2024-25 meeting by a final score of 60-40.
