RIVERDALE, N.Y. – The Manhattan Jaspers women's basketball team (0-11), despite 39 combined points from Hana Mühl (14), Colette Mulderig (13), and Brianna Davis (12), fell to the Stags of Fairfield (9-3) by a final score of 84-59 inside Draddy Gymnasium on Monday evening.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Shortly after Colette Mulderig got the scoring started, the Stags opened up on an 11-2 run by the 6:30 mark of the opening frame.
- Hana Mühl knocked down three of the next four buckets for the Jaspers, driving inside the paint for a layup through contact on all of them.
- Kristina Juric and Brianna Davis joined their teammates on the scoreboard by quarter's end, with Manhattan facing an eight point deficit.
- 30 seconds into the second, Mühl switched up her scoring method and connected from beyond the arc.
- After Fairfield had once again built a double-digit lead, Elisa Solé Sanchez knocked down two three-pointer's of her own, trimming the margin back to six.
- The Stags ended the half with seven unanswered points, capped off by Kaety L'Amoreaux's deep shot with less than 10 seconds to play.
- Mulderig hit two jumpers to open the half, giving herself double digits on the scoreboard.
- Davis extended her double-digit streak as well, connecting on four free throws in the frame.
- Mühl got more points in the paint with a layup on the final possession of the quarter to up her total to 11.
- Following Mulderig's layup over a minute into the final frame, Solé Sanchez converted on her third shot beyond the arc.
- Johlana Tatum made a contested layup with just over a minute to play, but Fairfield's offense overwhelmed the hosts in time for the final buzzer.
STATS AND NOTES
- Senior guard Hana Mühl led the team in scoring with 14 points, knocking down five field goals and a three point shot.
- Graduate forward Colette Mulderig followed just behind with 13, converting on a team-high six field goals and matching her three blocks from last game against Quinnipiac.
- Senior guard Brianna Davis extended her double-digit scoring streak to nine games with 12 tonight.
- Graduate forward Agar Farrés Garcia pulled down 11 rebounds, her fifth double-digit effort of the season and first since 11/29 against Navy.
- Manhattan shot at its best rate in the opening quarter, with a 41% clip.
