Riverdale, N.Y. — Fraser Roxburgh is joining the men's basketball program for the 2024-2025 season, head coach John Gallagher has announced. Roxburgh is a 6-7 forward who played for the Waverley Falcons of the NBL1, the second division of professional basketball in Australia.
"We are thrilled to welcome Fraser to our Jasper family," Gallagher said. "Fraser's versatility and ability to stretch the floor will add great value to our team. Fraser has gained invaluable experiences in the NBL1 that will allow him to fit perfectly with our group."
Roxburgh, a native of Melbourne, Australia, will be a freshman this upcoming season who is expected to add more depth to the Jaspers roster that returns five scholarship players from a season ago.
Roxburgh previously played for the Adelaide 36ers of the NBL, and became the youngest player to appear in the top league in Australia that season at only 17 years of age. Before that, he played for the Dandenong Rangers as his youth club, the Knox Raiders (NBL1) from 2020 to 2022, and the West Adelaide Bearcats (NBL1) in 2023.
Now 19, Roxburgh arrives at Manhattan as the third freshman to be announced for the class of 2024, along with Alijah Curry and Will Sydnor. He is the sixth player on this year's roster that is at least 6-7, including one of five who are also scholarship players.
