Juric and Gimenez Monserrat tabbed as Preseason All-MAAC Picks; Manhattan selected 6th in Preseason Coaches’ Poll

Atlantic City, NJ — Petra Juric and Ines Gimenez Monserrat will hear their names called during the Preseason All-MAAC announcements as part of the MAAC Hoops Tip-off Event happening now at the Ocean Resort Casino. Juric has been named to the Preseason All-MAAC Second Team while Gimenez Monserrat takes a spot on the All-MAAC Third Team.

-Petra Juric is coming off a junior season having averaged 10.2 points and 7.8 rebounds per game as well as over one block per outing. Juric was incredibly efficient down low for the Jaspers and converted on 51.8 percent of her attempts (2nd in MAAC). She totaled 13 double-digit scoring performances and went for 20 or more points four times, including a season-high 24 points on 10 of 12 shooting vs. Rider on December 16th. Juric finished the season with six double-doubles with a points-rebound combination — a credit to her scoring touch and stellar positioning for grabbing boards.

-The 6 '2 Croatian is looking to become the first player in program history to appear in three MAAC Championship Games after helping the Jaspers advance there in 2022 and 2023. Juric is a strong candidate to go down as one of the best Jaspers in recent memory.

-Juric is one of three Croatian players on Manhattan's 2024-25 roster along with sister, Kristina, and Hana Muhl. She is one of eight international players representing the Kelly Green and White.

-Ines Gimenez Monserrat is set to enter her second season in the Manhattan backcourt after averaging a team-high 10.8 points last season. Monserrat had a series of huge scoring performances for the Jaspers last season, highlighted by a 28-point outburst vs. Siena on January 4th. Overall, she posted 17 double-digit scoring outputs and reached 20 points or more three times. Monserrat had 13 games in which she converted on multiple three-point attempts.

-Gimenez Monserrat is the lone former D2 player to appear on one of the three Preseason All-MAAC Teams.

-Juric made the All-MAAC Second Team last season and was named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team following the 2021-22 season.

-Juric is joined on the Preseason All-MAAC Second Team by Emina Selimovic (Fairfield), Jo Raflo (Mount St. Mary's), Anna Foley (Quinnipiac), Anajah Brown (Siena) and Ahniysha Jackson (Siena).

-Monserrat was included among Kaety L'Amoreaux (Fairfield), Jackie Grisdale (Quinnipiac), Karson Martin (Quinnipiac) and Fatmata Janneh (Saint Peter's).

-The Preseason All-MAAC First Team consists of Meghan Andersen (Fairfield), Janelle Brown (Fairfield), Aaliyah Parker (Niagara), Ny'Ceara Pryor (Sacred Heart) and Teresa Seppala.
