Men’s Lacrosse Announces 2024 Slate

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - First-year head coach Doug Sage and the Manhattan men's lacrosse program have announced the Jaspers' 2024 schedule.

"Our players have been working hard in the offseason, and the entire program is excited for the start of the 2024 season," Sage said. "We have set up a challenging out-of-conference schedule with top-tier teams in the country to help us prepare for the highly competitive MAAC Conference schedule."

The Jaspers will open their 2024 season at No. 9 Syracuse on Feb. 9. Last season, the Orange were knocked out of the conference tournament by the 2023 NCAA semifinalist, Duke.

In the following contest, the Jaspers will return home to host their season opener against the University of Vermont on Saturday, February 17 at Gaelic Park. UVM went 9-5 last season, falling to the number four seed UAlbany in the NCAA Tournament.

Next, the Jaspers will play at No. 14 Princeton on Tuesday, February 20. The Jaspers faced Princeton early last season, losing the match 14-9. The Tigers went on to compete in the second round of the NCAA Tournament.

Manhattan travels to NJIT on Saturday, Feb. 24 for their last road game before returning home to start MAAC play.

March kicks off with the Jaspers taking on Bryant on March 2. Followed by the Jaspers MAAC home opener against Mount St. Mary's, a second-year MAAC contender.

After their MAAC opener, the Jaspers pack their bags and head north, first stopping at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut to take on the Pioneers. Following the Pioneers, the Jaspers travel even further north to play Canisius in Buffalo.

The last home game of March will be held against the Bobcats on March 27.

After a quick game at home against Quinnipiac the Jaspers hop back on the road again to take on the defending MAAC Tournament Champions, Marist, on March 30.

The Jaspers finish up their last road stretch of the regular season after hosting VMI on April 6. Manhattan will play at LIU on April 10, followed by a game at Siena on April 13.

The Jaspers host their final game of the regular season at home in Gaelic Park against Wagner on April 20.

"Last season did not end the way we wanted which has fueled the team's compete levels on and off the field," said Sage.

Last year, the Jaspers went 10-5 (7-2 MAAC) to clinch a share of the MAAC regular season crown and advance to the semifinals of the conference tournament.
