RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan's
Tadhg O'Riordan has been selected to represent Ireland at the 2023 World Lacrosse Championships.
The 2023 World Lacrosse Championships will be held in San Diego. Playoffs start June 27, with the Gold Medal Match scheduled for Saturday, July 1, at 4 p.m.
In 2023, O'Riordan was named Second Team All-MAAC as a short-stick defensive midfielder. The graduate student finished the year seven goals, one assist, 25 groundballs, and 11 caused turnovers. The midfielder scored twice, including the game-winner at Navy. O'Riordan has been named to the MAAC All-Championship team in 2022 and 2023.
Ireland is in Pool F with Peru, Latvia, Netherlands, and Korea. Play in Pool F starts June 22. Irelands against Netherlands at 4 p.m. on June 22.
ESPN will carry every game of the championships. ESPN2 will air the opening match, semifinals and Gold Medal Game. ESPNU will carry the Bronze Medal Game and the quarterfinal match involving the USA if they advance. All other games can be found on ESPN+.
