EDISON, N.J. - Six Manhattan men's soccer student-athletes were named to the All-Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Teams, announced today and voted on by the league's 11 head coaches.
Gunnar Studenhofft,
Nassim Akki,
Henry Hamilton,
Danny DiMarco,
Sebastiano Musu, and
Ayoub Boumelala highlight the all-conference teams for Manhattan.
All-MAAC First Team accolades went to Studenhofft and Akki. Studenhofft, a junior, has earned All-MAAC honors for the second straight year after collecting Second Team All-MAAC nods last season. He started 13 of 13 matches and led the Jaspers in goals scored with seven, including two gamewinners. Akki, a sophomore, and a two-time All-MAAC First Team honoree, was an integral part of the Jasper defense with his quick feet and great read of the field. He tallied one goal and one assist while being a leader on the back line and starting all 11 matches he appeared in.
Hamilton and DiMarco were named to the All-MAAC Second Team. Hamilton, a sophomore, is a two-time all-conference honoree after All-MAAC Second Team accolades a year ago. Hamilton started 14 of 15 matches and was second on the team in goals scored for Manhattan with six. He had one gamewinner and was 5-for-5 in penalty kick goals scored. DiMarco, a senior, is a two-time all-conference honoree, picking up All-MAAC Second Team accolades a year ago. He had a total of 49 saves for a save percentage of .700 and a pair of shutouts on his resume this season having started 14 of 14 matches.
Musu and Boumelala earned All-MAAC Third Team recognition. Musu had a trio of goals, including a pair of gamewinners. He started 13 of 16 matches for the Jaspers. Boumelala, a sophomore picks up his first-ever all-conference honor. He started 13 of 13 matches, had one goal scored, and was a key member of the Jasper defense.
