RIVERDALE, N.Y. – Manhattan women's basketball coach
Heather Vulin is thrilled to announce her first signing of the season, with Tegan Young being the newest Jasper.
"We are so excited to welcome Tegan and her family to our program," Said Vulin. "Tegan is a dynamic player that is versatile and plays with a toughness that will be hard to match. She will be a big, strong wing that can score and defend."
Young, a 6-1 wing, is a product of Lawrence Academy, and played her AAU ball for NE Crusaders. A dynamic playmaking guard, Young is a relentless competitor and a good bet to stuff the stat sheet on a nightly basis. Her ball-handling skills combined with craftiness and a high basketball IQ allow her to create scoring opportunities on her own. At 6-1, Young has become adapt at utilizing her height to finish at the rim over defenders, something that Vulin really looks for her in her players.
The daughter of Jeff and Brenda Young, when she arrives in Riverdale she will begin to pursue a degree in either psychology or environmental sciences.
