Edison, NJ - The Manhattan Volleyball team has been slated to finish ninth in the annual Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) preseason poll, as voted on by the league's 10 head coaches.
Fairfield earned six first-plate votes and 96 total points in being picked first. Defending champion Rider earned two first-place votes and 87 points in being tabbed second, while Canisius collected one first-place vote and 74 points in earning a third-place moniker. Quinnipiac received the first first-place vote and 70 points in rounding out the top-four.
Marist was fifth (61 points), followed by Niagara (56 points), Iona (41 points), Siena (28 points), Manhattan (25 points) and Saint Peter's (13 points).
Rider's Morgan Romano was selected as the 2021 Preseason Player of the Year.
Siena is set to host the 2021 MAAC Volleyball Championship Friday, Nov. 19 through Sunday, Nov. 21. The MAAC Volleyball Championship will again feature the top eight teams in a single-elimination tournament.
