Bronx, NY - Manhattan cross country's
Lisa Fajardo (Brooklyn, NY / Bishop Kearney) will compete in the 2018 ECAC Cross Country Championship Saturday, November 17 in Van Cortlandt Park. The women's 5K race will kick-off at noon.Â
Meet Notes:
- Fajardo currently holds the school record for the VCP 5K course (17:53.77), setting the standard earlier this season at the 2018 Fordham Fiasco, where she came in second. Fajardo bested her own time that day, beating the school record for the course (17:58.9)Â she set at last year's ECAC Championship, where she came in third overall.
- Fajardo earned All-MAAC honors this season for the fourth-consecutive year, finishing fifth overall (21:52.8) at the 2018 MAAC Cross Country Championships, held in Loudonville, NY on October 27.Â
- She is also the reigning 2018 Metropolitan Champion, placing first in the race, also held at Van Cortlandt Park on October 12, with a time of 17:55.2.Â
- In her last race on November 9, Fajardo finished 59th (23:04.2) at the 2018 NCAA Northeast Regionals at the Audubon Golf Course in Amherst, NY. She improved upon her 2017 NCAA Regional finish of 78th, running the 6K race 12 seconds faster than last year.
