Pauly Paulicap (Elmont, NY / Harcum College) was tabbed to the Preseason All-MAAC Second Team as announced earlier this evening.
Last season, Paulicap earned MAAC Defensive Player of the Year honors following an outstanding first year in Riverdale.
The Harcum College transfer ranked 16th nationally with a MAAC-best 2.6 blocks per game (16th NCAA) to go along with 10.0 points and 6.9 rebounds each time out. Additionally, he blocked at least three shots 14 times, including a career-high six on two occasions.
Canisius' Isaiah Reese was named as the Preseason Player of the Year with Rider (121 points) being slated as the unanimous choice by the league's 11 head coaches.
Canisius (105) was picked second with defending MAAC Champion Iona (94) and Quinnipiac (94) tied for third. Monmouth (66) was fifth, followed by Marist (59), Fairfield (50), Manhattan (46), Niagara (45), Saint Peter's (28) and Siena (18).
The 2019 MAAC Basketball Championship returns to the Times Union Center in Albany, NY for the fifth-straight season. This season marks the 20th time that Albany has hosted the season-ending Championship. This season's Men's Championship game is Monday, March 11 at 9:00 pm and airs live on
ESPN or
ESPN2.
