Riverdale, NY - Siena defeated Manhattan in four sets by scores of 25-21, 25-18, 18-25 and 25-20 in MAAC action at Draddy Gymnasium.
Prior to the match, the Jaspers recognized junior
Alyssa Rehrer (Lorton, VA / South County) for notching her 1,000th career dig earlier in the week at Rider.
Rehrer had another big match, recording a game-high 25 digs while registering at least 20 for the 10th time this season.
Senior
Mary Donnelly (Temecula, CA / Chaparral) paced the offense with 10 kills while freshman
Meagan Miller (Oakville, ON / Oakville Trafalgar) added nine kills, on .412 hitting, and five block assists.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
- Freshmen
Jade Jeffrey (Tamarac, FL / Cardinal Gibbons) and Donnelly each had three kills to pace Manhattan in the first set.
- Miller had three kills and block assists in the second set.
- In the third set, the Jaspers hit .357 with junior
Olyvia Chaltas (Temecula, CA / Great Oak) blasting six kills, on .500 hitting. Jeffrey and Donnelly also added three kills as Manhattan rapped out 14 for the stanza.
- The Jaspers assumed command of the match with an 8-1 run, including six-straight at one point, with Chaltas recording four kills and one block assist during the set-changing spurt.
- Miller capped her solid offensive performance with four kills in the final set.
- Sophomore
Taylor Hasley (Memphis, TN / St. Agnes Academy) had a season-high 27 assists.
