2015 Manhattan Women's Lacrosse Schedule
RIVERDALE, N.Y. - The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) announced the 2015 women's lacrosse preseason poll this afternoon. Manhattan was chosen ninth in the ballot.
As four-time defending champions, Canisius was selected as the top team in the league for the 2015 season with 79 points. The Golden Griffins finished with a 12-7 overall mark in 2014, including a 6-2 record against MAAC opponents.
The 2014 MAAC Championship runner-up, Marist, received 72 points, placing the squad in second place in this year's preseason vote. Fairfield, 60 points, followed by Monmouth (59) and Quinnipiac (39), rounded out the top five. Collecting 34 points, Niagara placed sixth, while Siena (32), Iona (16) and Manhattan (14) were chosen seventh, eighth and ninth in the ballot.
Last year, the Jaspers finished 2-6 in MAAC play and won their last two conference contests over Niagara and Iona.
Manhattan will open its season on Saturday, February 14, with a road game at Bucknell. The opening draw control is scheduled for 3 p.m.
