Directions to Dutchess Stadium
RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan College will play its home baseball games in 2015 at Dutchess Stadium, a 4,500-seat Minor League Baseball stadium in Wappingers Falls, N.Y., Noah D. LeFevre, Manhattan's Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, announced today.
"I am very excited about our newly forged partnership with Dutchess Stadium, Dutchess County and the Hudson Valley Renegades. Along with Amanda McEntire in our department, I'd like to thank Dutchess County Executive Marc Molinaro and Tom Hubmaster and Eben Yager in the Renegades front office," Noah D. LeFevre, Manhattan College Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, said. "Competing in this remarkable complex will greatly enhance the student-athlete experience and assist us in our recruiting efforts. This is a major step forward for our baseball program."
Home of the short-season class-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays, Dutchess Stadium is used primarily for Hudson Valley Renegades baseball from late June to early September. The stadium's field was converted to AstroTurf in 2014, allowing the surface to be used year-round, ensuring more protection from poor weather. The Jaspers will also have their own clubhouse at the stadium.
"I am thrilled that Manhattan College Baseball will call Dutchess Stadium our new home," head baseball coach Jim Duffy. "I thank Noah LeFevre and Amanda McEntire for their efforts in continuing to upgrade our baseball program and making this opportunity a reality.
"The opportunity to play our home games at a professional venue provides an immediate upgrade to our program and game day experience for our players, Jasper baseball fans and supporters. Van Cortlandt Park has been very good to Manhattan Baseball. I'll never forget going 18-0 there in 2012. It will always be a part of the program's proud history and continue to serve as our practice and preparation facility. Moving to Dutchess Stadium is another exciting step forward in the immediate future of Manhattan Baseball."
In 2014, Manhattan advanced to the MAAC Tournament for the 11th time in the last 12 years. The Jaspers have captured three MAAC championships in the last eight years, including consecutive conference titles and NCAA Tournament appearances in 2011 and 2012.
