SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame announced today the field of teams and brackets for the 2014 Tip-Off Event. The annual NCAA men's exempt tournament sponsored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference will take place Saturday, November 22 and Sunday, November 23 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut highlighted by eight schools in two four-team brackets.
Manhattan College is one of eight teams scheduled to participate in this year's Tip-Off tournament, including Binghamton, Notre Dame, Florida State, Navy, Providence, Northeastern and UMass.
As part of the Tip-Off event, the Jaspers will play road games at Florida State and at UMass. To conclude the event, Manhattan will face Binghamton in the first game at Mohegan Sun Arena on Saturday, November 22, followed by a matchup with either Navy or Northeastern on Sunday, November 23.
Manhattan is coming off a 2014 MAAC championship season, in which the Jaspers won 25 games for the fourth time in program history and reached the NCAA Tournament for the seventh time. 13th-seeded Manhattan put a huge scare into the defending national champion Louisville Cardinals in its second-round matchup. The Jaspers led the Cardinals by two points with less than three minutes remaining before Louisville pulled away for a 71-64 victory.

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference will continue to serve as the host conference for the annual event. The MAAC has developed a strong partnership with the Basketball Hall of Fame, including the opening of a MAAC exhibit in the Hall of Fame museum.
