EDISON, NJ – During the 2013-14 preseason, the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference will announce its preseason All-MAAC over the course of the next three days. The third team was announced Wednesday morning, followed by the second team announcement on Thursday and the first team announcement on Friday.
Manhattan's Michael Alvarado and Emmy Andujar each earned a spot on the All-MAAC preseason third team.
Alvarado, a 6-2, 180-pound senior from the Bronx, was Manhattan's second leading scorer last year, averaging 8.4 points per game. He was a member of the MAAC's all-rookie team in 2010-11, and was a third team All-MAAC selection following his sophomore season. An early season ankle injury kept him out three games. Alvarado scored in double figures in 13 of the 29 games he appeared in, and had a season high 19 points twice.
Andujar is a 6-6, 205-pound junior forward who also hails from the Bronx. A versatile player, Andujar has led Manhattan in assists for two consecutive seasons. Andujar was the Jaspers' third leading scorer (7.8 points) and second leading rebounder (5.0) last season. He was a MAAC all-rookie team selection two years ago.
Manhattan will begin the 2013-14 season on the road at La Salle on Saturday, November 9 at 2 p.m. in Philadelphia.
