RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan freshman Emmy Andujar was named MAAC Rookie of the Week as announced on Monday at conference headquarters. Andujar scored 13 points and dished out a career-high eight assists in the Jaspers 94-51 victory at Binghamton on Friday.
Andujar, a 6'5" 205-pound forward from the Bronx, shot 6-for-8 from the field at Binghamton and grabbed five rebounds as the Jaspers turned in their largest margin of victory (43) on the road since the 1972-73 campaign. Andujar made one steal and committed only one turnover in 23 minutes of action.
Andujar is the only Jasper to start all 14 games this season. He is averaging 8.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.4 assists. Manhattan opens the New Year at Draddy Gymnasium hosting Rider tonight at 7 p.m.
