Pickett Removes Name from NBA Draft

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Jaspers' junior guard Rico Pickett has withdrawn his name from the NBA Draft. The 2010 All-MAAC selection led the conference averaging 17.7 points per game last year.

Pickett, a product of Decatur, Ala., finished the campaign ranked sixth in the MAAC for field goal percentage (44%) and was in the top-15 for steals (1.3 per game) and 3-point field goal percentage (33.3%). Pickett also earned a spot on the All-Metropolitan Third Team after leading the Jaspers in scoring in 19 of 29 appearances. He shot 71.1% from the line and averaged 3.9 rebounds per game.

Manhattan returns nine letterwinners for the 2010-2011 campaign and will welcome four newcomers to Riverdale: All-City First Team guard Mike Alvarado (Bronx, N.Y./All Hallows), All-City First Team forward Rhamel Brown (Brooklyn, N.Y./Transit Tech), 6'1" shooting guard Kidani Brutus (Bronx, N.Y./Wings Academy/Carl Albert State) and 6'8" forward Robert Martina (Pompano Beach, Fla./Deerfield Beach/Miami Dade).
