Manhattan Basketball Program Signs Roberto Colonette to National Letter of Intent

RIVERDALE, N.Y. - Manhattan head coach Barry Rohrssen has announced the signing of 6'7" forward Roberto Colonette (Queens, N.Y./Robert F. Kennedy/ASA Institute) to a National Letter of Intent to play basketball for the Jaspers beginning next fall. Colonette joins the Jaspers' 2010-2011 recruiting class, which features First Team All-CHSAA guard Mike Alvarado (Bronx, N.Y./All Hallows), First Team All-PSAL forward Rhamel Brown (Brooklyn, N.Y./Transit Tech), 6'1" guard Kidani Brutus (Bronx, N.Y./Wings Academy/Carl Albert State), and 6'8" forward Robert Martina (Pompano Beach, Fla./Deerfield Beach/Miami Dade).

Colonette was named Junior College Region XV Division I Player of the Year at ASA Institute in Brooklyn playing under head coach Ken Wilcox. The Queens native averaged 12.5 points, 8.7 rebounds and 2.0 blocks per game to help the Avengers post a 19-5 record last season. Against regional opponents, Colonette averaged close to 17 points, 9.7 rebounds and 2.5 blocks. His top performance of the year came in ASA's regular season Region XV finale against TCI when Colonette recorded a season-high 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds.
